This Empty House
~~~*~~~
I have tangible
And memorial objects
Surrounding my loneliness
Adding to my torturous moments
at hand
As the love of my life
Is temporally absent
From our house
We once thought of
As the House of dreams.
Without you by my side
My heart is tormented
with the pain of loneliness
The light of my once happy soul
Is dimming quickly.
Leaving me to face
The reality of a broken heart
Within an echoless void.
I hear you not
Calling out my name
Though it be yelling at me
Or in loving whispers
Of a passionate night.
Our bed is empty
Of your heavenly presence
Only the perfume
Of your womanly scent, lingers
To accompany
The only thing I truly
Possess of you now
A Taste of you upon my lips.
Nothing compares to the empty feeling inside ourselves as to come back to an empty house.
Well said my friend, well said.
Once in a while a poem hits home.
And boy did this one hit hard.
The longing tore at my heart while the sadness brought tears to my eyes.
Beautiful write.
William,
I feel how much you miss Norma, she will be back soon. This is such a passionately written poem..One should only hope to have someone feel this deeply about them. You are such a beautiful man.
Ahh so beautiful William and so heartbreaking at the same time.
Hope it is not in living in reality for you though.
In times of lonely one could be even that much more creative, well at least I think so whether we want to be lonely or not.
