Death Is Born

~*~

The Late summer brings

Within it's soul

The tempest of destruction

Seas rage

As they swell and fall

Ships sail towards darken horizons

Doomed

Battling bravely for control

Poseidon shares no mercy.

~*~

the heavens weigh heavy

Laden with hideous columns

Of deadly clouds

Treatening more then

the sea's rage

Transporting death

Extracting the fear

Residing within

The heart of men.

~*~

By the sea shore

Gulls glide in the skies nay

The pelecan disappears

Grounding themselves

For they too fear

What is approaching near.

~*~

From the four corners

Of the world

Winds gather from hell

They meet, they dance

The dance of death

Twirling and swirling

Creating

Lord and Behold

The birth of a Hurricane.

It often seems like that these days, and when Katrina came, it, indeed, felt like that to many, many souls.

Sailors that have go through a typhoon have seen death going by and heard the merciless cackling of that witch storm.
Your poem should give something to think to those that are saying, "its only a storm..."

Yes, The rage of Mother Nature, gotta respect it though. It is a poem filled with so much imagery. When Mother Nature blows, we all have to run for cover.
You captured her fury very well, William, nicely done.
Peace, love, and light,

Look deep - and behold, the eye of the storm ... that's what came to mind, reading this chilling write! Compelling lines draw the reader into the maelstrom before they realize it - they're hooked! Excellent imagery in verse, William, very well penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Glad our storms are calm - today - now Wednesday could be a whole 'nuther matter! LOL
