  She was black

***

Came home one evening
unexpectedly
she was black and beautiful
waiting for me
Curvy and slender
she wore red, it became her
she was all natural.

she startled me sitting there
just staring silently
mesmerizing me, tantalizing me
beckoning me,
Bewitching me, daring me
to come nearer
she taunt me
with the pinkness
Of her sweet tongue
she wore red splendidly.

something about her
I feared
she hypnotized me
she was black and beautiful
she desire my embrace
to taste my lips
upon the venomousness
Of hers, that were not there.

I placed a yoke about her head
controlling her over powering her
she was black and beautiful
she wore red
to deter me, to warn me
of her deadliness.

I secured her
releasing her a distance away
into the wetlands of my domain
To live her life eternally
beautiful and free
Cotton mouth, oh cotton mouth
stay away from my front door
She was black , she was beautiful.

I love surprise endings. However, I was expecting a puppy or a kitten, certainly NOT a snake. Yikes!

You know, they really are beautiful creatures. Hard to remember sometimes that they are deadly. Well done William.

You're a good man, D'Artagnan. Most would have killed her. I like all critters, even snakes.

Tricky, you had me for the first three stanzas. nicely done. I'd be Tempted to eliminate her rather than relocate her, but I suppose there must be a reason for them... Part of natures plan, I guess, but a dangerous part. Hope your other pets don't suffer as a result. Thanks Dick
