I’M Tired

I’m Tired

Feel like Atlas

A heavy lode burdens

My broad shoulders.

I’M Tired

My heart beats slower

My breath is labored

My body aches.

Just want to go home

Lay down to rest

My weary bones

Move about less.

Let me close my eyes

To ease the pain of life

A thunder storm

Is brewing

Outside my window

Bringing peace none

Let my head

Upon my pillow rest.

Kiss me my darling

Allow me to dream

Of happier times

When all was you and I.

Let me close my eyes

To wonder one more time

If tomorrow

Will be.

The inner turmoil in this piece so describes most of my life...sometimes "I just want to rest"....beautifully penned, William!

When the signs of age creep up on us, we can always hearken back to those halcyon days when thoughts of our love was all about and we never felt any pain.

I felt the 'tired' you wrote of...deep, sad and reflective of each of us that has endured daily battles and just wanted to go home. Well done!
Cheers,
Dan

I know what you mean. Sometimes the weight of our problems and hearaches is enough to make us think we can't take one more day of it but somehow we survive and hopefully have learned from all of it. Pain spurs growth so I've been told.

Love ya!

I can empathize, William; this world/life has ways of making one weary. Love, peace, and strength to you,

Yeah, I used to wonder if tomorrow would come too, but I've quit that. Makes me sleep better at night. Uh, but then maybe it's that two (3) glasses of cheap California burgundy that helps my sleep.
