I sit in the silence
Of my present moment
Without you
To share my thoughts with.
It hurts not being able
To here your laughter
Your giggles
Your self humming songs.
Those stern words
When your lovely face
Smiled at me not
Though icy and benign
I knew you were right
Lovingly
I attempt to embrace you
As you innocently shrug
My reaching arms away
Like a child
I lower my head
Walk away in search
For a place
I can sentence myself
Apart from you

I am unable to endure
