A Sunset

How can I describe,
The beauty of a sunset?
Before my eyes, my God,
As I sit here, let me try.

The sky is blazing,
With the brilliance,
Of an orange yellow,
In front of a darkening,
Baby blue sky.

A graying cloud smears,
The western horizon,
Like tentacles, reaching,
For the unknown, like the strokes,
Of a master's brush.

Technology adds, it's beauty,
To the loveliness, of nature,
As a jet streaks, A fine white line,
Accross the sky, with it's vapor trail,
To remind us, of our present times.

Dusk slowly swallows,
The descending sun,
As if, protecting it,
Saving it, for another tomorrow.

A salute Of seagulls,
As they performed,
Their final, fly by,
Getting out of beauty's way,
Nesting for the night.

you did just fine as far as I'm concerned. Sunset are the dreams poets dream to fill in the spaces between sunrises.

This was perfect! Loving these lines:

Dusk slowly swallows,
The descending sun,
As if, protecting it,
Saving it, for another tomorrow.

So beautiful,
