Thank goodness this is a poem from my attic of verse. I almost lost my way back then but life has a way of keeping the rhythms together to best suit us. My heart rejoices at that decision. ~SKdV~
In the diminished power of illusion
As tears lasso a dream
Facets fade as the shade draws
Upon embroidered gloss she screams
In quiet sobs she remorses
What was then, is now... and gone
She holds the smile he gave her
Then pain strikes to her bones
Regret of what had happened
In this crossroad of pure pain
When he came out of nowhere
Then for a time echoed her name
It just wasn't meant to happen
As farrowed dreams paint fault
They bow to her fast sorrow
As her tears turn into salt
This world can be so beautiful
As dawn begins each day
But love can paint a canvas
Turn sunshine into grays
They take another pathway
Never knowing what is gone
To live a life without true love
Then go their way alone.
Dear Susan,
Great title to a deep heartfelt poem that strikes the heart!
Deeply moving; as we move together and alone .. all one in our aloneness, learning immensely as we go.
Thank you for sharing your loving heart that unites.
Love, Suzie xoxx :-D

The ending made me gulp!!!
So sad, and so well written, art comes of pain sometimes, ain't it a bytch!
these lines hit home
As farrowed dreams paint fault
They bow to her fast sorrow
As her tears turn into salt

Hard poem to write because of the turmoil that produced it, but it reads like a forewarning to us all, that love can bend and hurt us, but never break.
These words show your mastery of taking illusion and its many facets to the heights of beatuy, and to the lows of sorrow.
Well done in every line. - Bill
