Dreams can become a mode of travel when the weather, seasons and wishes take you to paradise. Then, for a while, anything is possible.

Thanks to Roy Orbison for the last two lines.

Here I am awaiting
The first cold and windy storm
The one that makes you snuggle
Deep in comfort's arms
Cinnamon of a candle
Once the lights go out
Downy, feathered snuggles
Keeping chillbumps down
Breathing nice and easy
Tracing tiny freckles
Kissing builds to flaming
Sips to make me giggle
Just when the rain's beginning
Marching on the the window
Tapping with a cadense
In sequence with our rhythm
Dreaming in angora
Deep eyes of baby blue
'I've got your memory
While she's got you."

The last two lines grab at me like - like what? I don't know, they just grab me. As the much used saying goes, "Been there. Done that." And, I'm not going back. Well done my friend.
Love `n a Hug,
Marcia

Just cruising around the den tonight, not planning to comment on anything, but saw this and signed in just to say, what a cool poem. I'm with Taylor. It's the last two lines that made it for me. Didn't see that coming at all. It's good to offer a surprise or shock sometimes. Sometimes that's the distinction between real poetry and greeting card verse. This is a poem with which I think many a lover could identify. We feel like this sometimes even when the reality of who has whom is something we do not grasp accurately. You may thank Orbison for the last two lines, but you get the credit for knowing where to put them. :-) I also couldn't help but think of lessons we learn. Frequently a dream or memory is so much better than the real thing. Memories and dreams often hold idealized versions of reality. ~~Nordette

"Here I am awaiting the first cold and windy storm the one that makes you snuggle deep in comfort's arms" Interesting and introspective. Pierre.

Like the old rock n roll song (country), all harsh weather and inner softness.

Aha...the bait and switch! Wasn't certain if the befreckled one was a small child come to visit or an adult one...oh well...the passion and angora convinced me it was no child. Hummmm, the wheels are turning Susan, with that terrific finale, you might want to consider this as lyrics to a hit country song...I love the bite in the end...just perfection!

Love ,

Tay

Belle-o-rama in da pajama ...

You paint a series of very tactile images here, and you do it, as Dr. Lilly says, with oodles of passion.

Peace and Light ...

Yes but Susan that memory may be worth all the loveless shared nights in a lifetime, for if the one that holds his name does not hold his heart, she has nothing. Beautiful write and though sad I see a smile of fond rememberence in it.

Hugs,
Fee

We've had our first storms: gone are sandals, shorts and short sleeves. Winter is looming. Snuggling is a must. Victor

To know love and then lose it, how sad to be left with just the memory of what once was.
