I'm a strong believer in the spirit returning to quest for that love from centuries before. It is a perfect definition for dejavu.

Poem Artwork

To love without knowing
From centuries before
Familiar is the quest anew
Point me to the door.

Senses are exploding
As the itch comes back
Passions bond together
When old love is a fact.

Familiar strangers
Never the same face
Inside is a smoking fire
Uphold this love, embrace.

The heart is an old one
The spirit knows this maze
The hands are as warm
As they were yesterday.

I've been catching up in reverse and I had to do a double take and skip up a notch to Dejavu 101 for a recheck. Yes, yes...you have it right and I agree wholeheartedly...from ancient Greece, and the gentleman of the 18th century court, on to the civil war and suddenly today...the quest fulfilled. Two poems, similar subject, different flavors, but the same delectable ice cream poetry.
Love, Taylor

Lost love cries out from centuries before, True love can never die, I don't think we all can sense it but I think that those who do know they do beyond a doubt and it's very possible that the loved can allways find each other again. Love Pierre.

Susan, having experienced this phenomenon first hand, I am also a believer in love transcending the centuries. The faces may change, but the heart and soul have unique capabilities of recognition that simply cannot be explained. "Familiar strangers" feel it when they meet. This is lovely and the best explanation I've seen. I love the picture, it reminds me of the southeast Georgia low country -my beloved Savannah.

Susan,

A very beautiful and timeless piece. Somethings may seem to change but somehow they're still the same.

Susan - I'm not yet a believer. But, where and how do I get more information and 'on hand' facts about how love carries over into future generations? A new concept; maybe there is hope... even for me. This is a good job of writing in an arena never covered before.
