You can sing the blues, you can paint the blues and you can write the blues. For me, I just LOVE the blues.

Poem Artwork

blue is for passions that some think are pink
its the aqua in precious clean waters we drink
its skies that are open with doilies of clouds
its dark moods that cause us to weep out loud
its Crayolas and craypods of lapis...blue-green
its Mondays and weatherman's cable blue screen
its wee baby booties on tiny pink feet
its eyes that are calling for more chocolate sweets
its the beautiful Nile River and sheer lingerie
its the sparks that light midnight with comets that play
midnight is black with hints of blue hues
its suede in the lyrics of Elvis and shoes
its the moon and it's radiance...the fireworks of hearts
its polka dots visible when eyes shut out dark
its navy... my color...its Robin egg blue
its waltzes with lovers on the Blue Danube
Montana and big sky...the denim in jeans
its oceans of dolphins who play in my dreams
its my color... my eyes and my navy blue shoes
its the color of bluebells...its love for me too
its the blue that is opposite the pink for females
its the stripe on the backs of exotic tree snails
its azure and passion...emotion...its faint
its violets of lavender blue and its paint
its the sapphire in gems and the eye of a storm
kaleidoscopes...tropics of liquid form
its light and its dark...its hues and its tints
its acrylic...not plastic and violet...its faint
there's pink hearts for the lovers that call
then for those who are hurting...
well...its bouncing blue balls
its me... all blue-eyed... wrapped in your smile
blueberries hand fed to the lips of a child
its the feathers with white in the funny Blue Jay
its art...its Picasso and sunny sky days
its Civil War soldiers... the Yankees in toys
its girls in lace collars and vested Blue Boys
its a primary color with changing techniques
its the mess that I make with paint on my cheeks.

So many joyful blues. Reminds me it's all blues and it's all right. Don't forget,
"ink on a pin...
underneath the skin.
there is your song from...
me." Joni Mitchel
Have a lovely V-Day

You know I like this. Great job. I like the colors as well as the blues. For some reason that picture reminds me of Norah Jones singing that song, The Nearness of You. God Bless and have a happy day tomorrow, Susan.

I've been wondering when some talented poet would capture just about all the good things about The Blues. Damn, iffen you ain't gone and done it ! ! ! Love each and every - the way you make the lines SING!
Good stuff here, and it isn't surprising... considering the source.
