Who is this person who lays beside me?

Hair of gray and eyes of brown.

Older now than when we dated.

Slower now than when we mated.

Who is he now?

I look at him and see,

The young and vibrant man I loved when we ran free.

Ideas of old and new.

I hear the laughter that we share.

I smell the fragrance that he wears.

The man that loves me so.

This person that lays beside Him is still

The one and only one that shares his life

And forever will be his wife.

Linda, my friend. Don't worry he's still the same guy just a little older, wiser and slower. We all experience it. Your poem is lovely.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
