A tribute to my loving Mother.

My mother was a good loving woman

She washed and scrubbed six peoples clothing by hand

My mother lived from 1906 to 1991

She was taken from her family at the age of two years, to live with the sisters

Life was not easy living with the nuns

She was frequently locked in dark closets where the rodents held power

Needless to say she spent her whole life terrified of rats

There bite marks on her feet, legs, hands, and arms were clearly visible

The nuns in the convent were just like there male counterparts

The abusive Roman catholic priests

Only her oldest brother 15 years her senior helped her

He became her guardian when she was just eight years of age

Depression and fear never left my poor Mother

Doctors tell me that is why I have chronic depression

But I also have immense love in my heart, and soul

This I inherited from my glorious Mother

I love YOU Mom, and always will

Please have a wonderful day tomorrow in heaven where you truly belong

Tony, This brought tears to my eyes! So sorry your mom didn't feel love when she needed it. She felt love when you were born and that is why you are such a precious soul. It seems the ones who suffer are always the purest souls. Your mom isn't scared anymore and filled with love everywhere. She is proud of what you have become and always by your side. ~Love, and peace always

This is very painful to read but it console my heart to know that she is where she belongs as you mentioned. By heart and mind she was very tough and loving and yes, leaving a legacy to such a strong and loving son. From heaven she smiles down to see her son in the right path and loved by many. Also to know the messages you give to others to make this world a better place. That, any mother on earth or heaven is pleased and proud of. Depression can disappear, when there is something good to hear... Be blessed always.

Sad to hear. All the more reason to leave religion behind. Depressed myself, for many years... the best way out is get busy doing something good every day that occupies your time and mind until you forget that you were ever depressed.

Dear Tony:

I'm so sorry for what your mother had gone through while growing up. Some of the nuns were mean to your mother; but I'm glad that she grew to be a very loving mother for you.

What a precious write this is!

This is so sad--the damnedest things people do in the name of something, someone, or anything. So heartfelt...a tale of the resilience of your mother--she is a true survivor, and an epitome of love, friend....
