Rub a dub dub,
it's either poetry,
or the pub.
Surviving into this maturity,
I have plans of more security.
Rub a dub dub,
I stay out of the pub.
Fifteen years alcohol free,
without it,
nothing stupid hardly rubs me.
When I was drinking,
I did no inking.
Now that I'm inking,
I do no drinking.
Rub a dub dub
out of the pub,
into the writing club.
Now I'm a writerholic,
it's better than being an alcoholic.
Its's a descent trade,
for both,
the dues I've paid.

Congratulations to you for fifteen years sober. I have about ten years freedom from conpulsive over-eating but, falling many times. God has been faithful! I love your POEM! Thanks for sharing Betty Torain
A fun read. I like your outlooks in life. Yes, being in front of the computer is better than going to bars. Drinking is never my taste for life.

P.S. I hope I didn't bore you with my venting in my long e-mail.
