This is a fictional poem but the lady who shot her preacher husband was real.
She said the good reverend abused her.

Poem Artwork

He looked down the muzzle,
his life flashed like a puzzle.
How did it come to this,
from a lover he use to kiss?
The gun was in his face,
but his head was still stuck
in the toilet seats place.

Still he just couldn't figure,
he was still puzzled under the trigger.
At first he thought it was a tease,
until the finger started to squeeze.
Early one morning,
he was given a warning.

Now he lay dead,
with a bullet in his head.
When the hammer fell
he looked puzzled,
a few last words the
bullet muzzled.
His life went out with a bang,
as his other lover rang.

What a wife and what a preacher!!! I hope the preacher's lover had gone fast past throughout Timbuktu by now.
Great kind of telling.

Crime of passion. Confusion between love and hate. Maybe the other lover is next? Fun to read. - HB

Murder is not the solution...BUT knowing what abuse can do to you I can understand why people snap in the heat of the moment!!

Unbelievable how love can turn to such hatred, that murder should become the only answer in one's mind.
You've penned well this situation.
Hugs, Laura
