On the news they were referencing how the presidents invite famous poets to the inauguration. Any way I decided to write my own inaugural poem.
This country has come
a long way
for all it is a
brand new day
One that I hope
is here to stay
No matter what the
racist and haters say
And if they try to speak
let their word travel weak
Not one day or
even a week
Let it be forever more
that we all keep
an open door
Letting our greatness and
strengths keep the floor
No man is an island
No island resides one man
One for all
all for one we should stand
As human beings let us all live and
flourish in the creators loving plan
Positively and sharing together
we all can

Very well spoken! We need to stand as one..in GODS name and make things better for our children..and the world! We are all equal as humans and to those whom do not believe..pray for them

I woke up Tues. morn "on top o' the world"...with joy and hope and willingness to tighten-the-belt to help make President Obama's America whole again! We have so many opportunities, if we only follow the words in your poem, Grady, and the leadership of our President!

United we all should be as one counry under God. Let the new President rule and have a chance to change the bad things going on and help us for a better economy, more peace and whatever he can do that is helping to us and he is so smart he can turn things around for the better. I belive this is a goal of his too.
