I don't care how old you are, you've got to have a toy. If you don't have one then it might be a good idea to find one.

My wife and I had a great time last night,
but we did get into a small verbal fight.
Trip back home was kind of stressful,
but in all everything was really successful.

If I was a drinking man,
I would have got drunk as hell with the bottle in  hand,
Trying to get over the stress,
from the negative mess.

Instead.

I went out shopping and collecting,
for me it's just as good in correcting.
I picked up a few of my favorite toys,
I don't mind being like little boys,
As long as I can step up to bat,
and put on my man hat.

Some men retreat,
when life turns up the heat,
then they suffer defeat.
I've done a little running,
after life got stunning.
Especially when I was a juvenile,
and a confused boy child.

So this morning I kissed my wife,
then for several hours got out of her life.

Came back home with a bag full of toys,
just like little boys.
I bought a remote control M1A1 Abrams tank,
to run over my wifes feet at the kitchen sink.
Of course I need the real one,
when my wife gets me on the run.

She usually kicks my toy tank down the step,
then it and I both need some back up help.
This is my fifth addition to my collection,
my wifes big foot destroys them to perfection.

The little boy,
Clark Kent'd back to man,
to face the wife woman.

However,

the little boy will still operate the controls,
on my tank rolls,
over my wifes toes,
all over the carpet,
running over the cat,
MeOwww!

Until my wifes boot,
destroys my tank remote.

Crunch!!!Clank,
end my tank.

I'll enjoy collecting another one.
Just part of my fun.

G

As men never manage to grow-up, I agree they should keep and buy their toys!
Enjoyed this one.

Grady, wonderful insightful write, with just the right amount of humor. There's play time and serious time, obviously you have a balance. Great job! ~Z~

What a humerous write. You mean men take a leave? and come back with toys. Some of us go out for toys too but we come home and wear them for you...
