Getting Along

My house functions fine because I take responsibilities, and don't dwell on hostilities. My writes on family are basically that little part of me that says, "at least write about it, you're not perfect, you know. Use the word and let the little steam go."

My wife and I get along fine,
we treat each other loving and kind.
There's no such thing as a perfect relationship,
or any other type companionship.
We all have our stresses,
and our stresses have us.
It's reciprocal in stature,
a normality in nature.
Given and shown in return,
learn to get along or burn.

Don't learn to get along,
life may end up somewhat wrong.
I'm not into wrong anymore,
wrong maybe into me,
but my eyes clearly see.

Clearly see the wrong coming,
then adjust not to be succumbing.
Vision of sight,
in wrong and right.
The problem is,
everyone wants to be right,
even when they're wrong.
I don't mind being wrong,
if it will help me get along.
I'll even give up being right,
to prevent a fight.

One basic word in surviving,
"mean
- the middle state between two extremes."
Be to mean,
you've lost,
before you even start.
Surely the devil has your card.

You see,
or you don't see.
It's not all about the other person,
so refrain from your cursing.

It's about your own peace of mind.
If you're already down,
being meaner knocks you further to the ground,
the other person doesn't even have to swing,
because eventually you'll be self- destructing.

Yes,
my wife and I get along fine,
I don't leave it up to her anytime.
I love to have a guarantee,
so I put the responsibility on me.

Signed, sealed and delivered in stone,
forget picking the bone.

~Excellent write, my friend.
You have learned the secret
to "getting along". In this
world of failed marriages
yours is strong because of
your conviction not to do wrong.
(Made a little rhyme there:)
Outstanding write!!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Yf

Hi Grady:

I'm so glad to know you get along. I DO get along with my hubby very well everyday. HE'S A SUPER GUY!!!!!!

I'm happy for you too. Sometimes the mood of my friends is contagious, it makes me worry:

When my friends are sad then I'm sad too;
When my friends are happy then I'm happy too.

That's just the way I am. I can't change myself.
(Please read my blog of today's you'll find out how easily I'm persuaded into happiness and sadness)

Glad to know you're happy too.

Lots of love to you,

Sandie Angel a.k.a. May Lu :o)

Glad to hear this Grady!!

To get along is fine....and needed in any relationship!!

I can get along with all kinds of people...as long as they can show me some love and humor....but no "sourpusses" thank you!!
That I don't need...not even in my marriage!!

I hope you know what I mean!!

This was a great write my friend!!

Love Tinka

I think this piece also shows one, among others, important value that is critical in a marriage, respect for each other. Great write, Grady. :)
