Poetry..
My escape
my way to validate..
all that I feel..
all that is unjust..
all that I went through
all that made me be so tough..
My Poetic Diary..
Counting the days..
the months ..
the years..
That I was deserted...
abandoned.
imprisoned
just waiting for my turn..
to tell my side.
but there was no one
there to listen..
But you my friend..
always there from the age of ten..
allowed me to complain..
to scream of all my pain
through this pen..
To figure out what went wrong..
To let tears fall on
these pages I depend..
These pages keep my secrets ..
Never judge..
this empty paper is my love..
It beckons me..
when I feel low..
Come here my friend
tell me all your woes..
I will never let you down..
Never let your secrets go..
I will take your words that you feel..
I will let them fill my pages..
Of pain..of life.. of love.. of rage.
I will absorb your tears ..
in every page
I am your friend..
Forever I have been...
This simple piece of paper and pen..
Erica, this is really wonderful. And what I like is the hopefullness you are expressing and not the hopelessness that sometimes comes out. That pen and paper has been a good friend and a saviour.

interesting. Im not sure poetry is an escape perhaps life is the escape from the passions invoked within poetry for example :)
