I see the smoke hesitate in the air,
pristine, bereft of a care in langour
and on this turning eve of the new year
I swear to end the silent pollution
which echos so profusely in my head
.
I vow in this year, two thousand and four
to score another path across divides
both great and small in the Americas
for purposes so noble and divine
as to make the Gods wish that they could write
.
Obligation begs my integrity
to keep at the book of wisdom foreseen
as glorious testament to beauty,
honor, and nobility becoming
of the finer purposes and intents
