This a Fund-Raising Poem for HINNA Women Activists who rehabilitated and re-opened the Benadir Hospital after 14 years of civil conflict in Mogadishu. All during those years, a boy has put himself in charge of the security and protection of the hospital. Now Benadir Hospital expresses its gratitude to both the boy and HINNA for their courage to protect and re-open the much-needed facility. Please feel free to read and review it as usual.
When everybody ran away
A boy remained behind
He stayed to protect me
He was so kind and caring
His heart had a soft spot
His eyes were so appealing
They made whispers in silence
But so gentle a man he was
He held his emotions back
He never took advantage of me
I am so grateful to him
He saved my life
He deserves a reward
He deserves respect
Please give him a hug
My thanks also go to HINNA
HINNA gave me attention
They made me myself again
I treat the poor mothers
I treat the untreated women
But HINNA has no resources
They need help to help me
Without them being helped
They can't help me survive
If they are not helped
I can't help the poor

I love it when one is recognized for their efforts. Great poem and thank you for the sharing.
The boy deserves the wonderful tribute. It is always great for youngsters to act kindly. Some kindnesses were born with the individuals, and some have evil seeds. This one sounds to me an inborn kindess of a boy who will become a very good man.
