Canab (Pronounced as Anab in English) felt an unusual fetal movement which lasted less than 10 seconds. Then she visited a doctor who told her that the baby was dead. Canab is my neighbor in the outskirts of Mogadishu, Somalia and I dedicate my poem to her and other mothers who are facing similar fate.
There was light shining inside her
There was hope inspiring her heart
In her waist she carried a weight
She was two persons just in one
We all prayed for safe delivery
But doctor’s report was shocking
Canab was no more an expectant
She was pregnant with a dead baby
The poor lady is now a moving tomb
Baby is gone without knowing the reason
Burying the unborn is not our problem
Saving her life is our biggest challenge
Please pray for Canab.
This is such a sad situation, Abdi-Noor. I will certainly keep Canab in my prayers. Thank you for letting us know that she needs our collective strength and prayers.
Take care,
Sherry
You have breached the hearts of many with this one Abdi Noor!
I hope all of our prayers will be heard, for Canab, and life
will improve in your country enough to make this kind of event
as rare as possible!
