Lying on a hospital bed a doctor and his patient exchanged these words. Though not along the same line of thought, my mind was provoked by Jude's poem of "Living In the Womb Of The Dead". I am also inspired by the great Somali poets of Hadrawi and Abdi-Qeys who exchanged poems on Life Hereafter.
Doctor:
You were born in this hospital
Patient:
I was not a witness of that event
Doctor:
You were born on 13th of May 1934
Patient:
How do you prove that?
Doctor:
I can show you hospital records
Patient:
I can not believe in your records
Documents are not an evidence of truth They can be manufactured illegally
Doctor:
Anyway your health condition is serious. You have been here for a long time. Clinically you are dead. We can not help you dear patient.
Patient:
i have lived my life, doctor. If my time comes I am happy to die. Death means a passage to another life.
Doctor:
You are wrong patient. Don't believe in life after death.
Patient:
You want me to believe in your hospital records on the day I was born. You want me to believe in something for which I have not been a witness
Yet you tell me not to believe in what God had told us in his holy books. Man came to the world not knowing when and where he was birthed and lives not knowing when and where he would die.
How the day had looked when he was born is something he learns from people but where he goes after death is something he should learn from God.
If he had believed people about the day he was born and how he was delivered, then there is no point of disbelieving God and what He had said about Life Hereafter through His revelations.
Here (this world) is a middle point between where we had come from and where we are going to. And to understand and visualize life hereafter with our plain minds is as impossible as remembering the day we were born. Since we learned from people how that day had looked like, why can't we learn from God's books to know how Life hereafter would look like?
And Good Bye said the patient before she gasped for a last breath. Patient died to meet God. She was my mother. Through death a much stronger bond is being established between me and my mother.
I am living in her dead womb and she is living in the live womb of eternity. One day we shall both be re-born in a world I can never imagine now.

Wow! I wrote a poem too, influenced from Jude's poem. I should have read this first; This is awesome Abdi Noor! I love the analogy you made between faith and belief in what man says, and that of what God says. Your last verse is superb!Great work brother! Bravo!
Insightful and profound, this poem states your strength of conviciton and of your belief in God over words delivered by man. As it should be...we all hear the voice or voices that speak to us from other realms. They speak truth to us and they enlighten our journey and our work here. I can tell you whatever I wish and you can believe whatever you wish of my words, but when God speaks to us, we understand his wisdom and we should never question his motives. Excellent write, Abdi-Noor.
Take care,
Sherry
ah yes, living in the eternal womb ... going through cycles of life and death until we reach the point we no longer need to experience reentering into the flesh for we have transcended its realms and have evolved into a world we cannot yet imagine until we arrive there ... some call this place "heaven" or "nirvana" ... i refer to it as combining into the creative force of the great imagination ... and then the process begins all over again, if we choose to ...
