I try to portray a relationship between a black woman and a white man during the wake of black rights movements in America where some white sympathizers joined the struggle. In this story a white man marries a black women at a time when such a union was seen as a taboo if not a crime in the cultural context of the time. But his wife feels unpleased with the huge time he spends on the struggle by attending meetings and organizing demonstrations and wishes to have had such a relationship without this man involved in these activities that shared with her the attention she wanted all for herself. This is just my imagination, not even inspired by any reading whatsoever.
You have fallen in love with a cause
You are a white with an unwhite mind
You have an intention to crack racism
You have crashed the love boundary
You fell in love with a ghetto woman
Black by color but bright in the heart
I appreciate your loyalty for the cause
But I wish we married without a cause
To have your heart alone for my heart
Love for a cause beyond the heart. Would love, not question this pretense, and object to love of purpose rather than love of heart? Intersting questions and emotions asked, expressed Abdi-Noor. Thanks for stimulating the inquisitive emotions. JonMichael Willey
