Ohhhhhhhhh my goodness I do agree this is a cruel injustice to female children and their futures that NEEDS TO BE CEASED AT ONCE!!!!
This is a truly powerful POWERFUL MOVING WRITE!!!! WAKE UP WOMEN ALL OVER THE WORLD AND LET'S TOGETHER STOP THE CRUELTIES BEING DONE TO OUR SISTERS!!!!

This is a practice that NEEDS to be stopped! Too many young girls and women are maimed or even damaged by this horrible practice! What a barbaric practice; oh, the humanity of it all! Thanks for shedding light on FGM; this is an issue that needs to be addressed and eradicated! BRAVA, Abdi-Noor, for your courage in writing this poem!

Abdinoor, I'm so touched by this write. I know how much it hurt you to write it...I pray it will be resolved one day soon, but it seems our worldly culture cares more about advancing in technology than in how to behave as human beings...Bless you Abdi You and your country are in my prayers.(see my "Dying Planet" the pic is from Somalia, I had what you told me in mind, when I wrote it...

This breaks my heart.....It is sad that there are some places where a woman has no value....we, both men and women are equal...My God .....sometimes we get it all so wrong...

I will fight anyone that tries to tell me.... myself or my Daughter are not as worthwhile as a man.

A very moving write...thank you for sharing this with us. You have my respect and admiration.

I agree with Rage's comments. And thank you for enlightening many of us on yet another example of mankind's inhumanity. Similar examples exist in many cultures and countries. Mankind truly does have a long long way to go.

It takes years for enlightenment. In America, women still cannot get equal rights. In fact, conservative women don't want equal rights, so they hinder their own progress and that of others. Thanks, Abdi-Noor
