Poem Artwork

curled up, fetal like
trapped in a block of ice
motionless
without a thought
no escape in sight
shivering from the cold
frozen in lost solitude
and then a dream comes along
its fire heats up life
and from inside looking out
cracks begin to form
loves allusion of what is right
floats childlike into a storm
tomorrow may come soon enough
but tonight, tonight is my light

Sara, so very often when one feels trapped inside, “looking out,” one must break through and look from the outside “looking inward.” They say tomorrow never comes and if one embraces today, then I do believe tomorrow will bring much more happiness. Excellent write. Thank you for sharing it. Take good care and be well.

There is a lot of meaning interwoven in your verses of this poem which is deserving of much more than one reading. Thank you, Sara. Love and peace to you.

Very profound poem Sara! A good example of holding the best of each day close, for it may not be with us tomorrow.
