with the responsibility to grow more men
teaching them how to embrace hatred
as their favorite ally
was love a thing to be taken
not shared
lest fruit over ripen on a tree
leaving it to the worms
happily eating away to the core
did girl meet boy
her heart get light
her butterflies take flight
or did boy see girl
tearing at his needs
grasping the right moment
to plant his seeds
did love's infestation of bondage
shrug off the next generation
like a worn out cliché
on a tired atlas?

I don't know about love in relationships... except, didn't Adam eat the apple just so he could be with Eve? We're all a consequence of that love-choice. And I love-love that old bible story of Isaac and Rebeccah... talk about love... and their son, Jacob...slaving all those years, just to get the wrong bride (no offense, Leah)...
All that aside, maybe that was nothing but momentary passion...But who could ever deny that there exists such extraordinary love between a mother and her new born babes? That has got to be timeless... and eternal...
