Poetry is a portrait of emotion,
Composed of words like a series of mirrors
Reflecting light onto personal history.
Stepping from image to imagination—
An archeology of a mind's life
Progressively illuminates caverns,
Where treasures of love and pain hide away—
Waiting to be painted in vivid brevity.
It doesn’t matter where the journey starts,
As long as it goes forward to a heart.
Radiant, evolved and exposed to light—
Animated by the writers mind's eye—
Emotions reveal the colors of life...
Where the portrait of poetry resides.
