So many say, “By the grace of God walk I”
When their paths cross a homeless man whom lies
Out in the streets without any shelter
His clothes and life all helter skelter
But in reality you have to ask
What exactly makes you better at the task
Of living life in God’s good grace
A being without any face
It is my point of view
That any man has the option to do what he must do
It is his choice to live for booze
A man out in the open and yet a recluse
But those of you who believe so strong
That all he needs is to let God in his heart to belong
To what society considers a normal life
And voila, miraculously no more strife
I say that simply is not true
You do not need to renew
An unwritten contract with a higher power
In order to live up in an ivory tower

(This is a first in a series of poems I am going to write about my system of beliefs.)

My personal life is of no consequence to you
Sometimes not even myself
From here on out I will endeavor to do
What was my first intent
I will write about the philosophies
And not the mundane dramas
That make me, me
I will scream for all to hear
The side that many will not accept
Of what waits beyond our fears
