It's all in the mind

"It's long since" she said
those kinds of feelings present;
one puts those away in the hall closet
among the sachet laments;
arousals can only cause
confusions and disapointments
and can seem inappropriate in one my age;
yet I cannot deny that the young men are beautiful
and I cannot express that desire
without laughter and scorn from those who would say
"act your age"

Here secret desire, and longings live
in the prison camp of appropriateness
and I long thought succumbing was my only alternative;
after all my age and agedness rules out recapturing
the youth and young girl I was
and I cannot pretend that that long ago still exists
even as I yearn for it.

He said " Let's not go blind for appearance
there are those who see beyond appearances
and pretty souls don't die or suffer death in encasements
never again to see the light of day.

Dance for me here in silks and satin, bring forth again
youth entrancing, and I will see what you have there inside
and celebrate it with Once Again.

Let's not be dominated by age and youth predjudices
for we were and are still the beautiful people.
Find one who understands reality flips back and lives
once again.

I promise you this.
I promise you this.
