This was written for my Valentine Daughter on her 31st birthday.

Happy Birthday Valentine Daughter

Today you turn 31
and look no more than 20.
I hope you have a happy birthday
with smiles and laughs aplenty.

It seems like only yesterday
we brought our baby girl home.
Now you've gorwn up, married,
and have a home of your own.

Over the years I watched you grow.
You are very beautiful and very kind,
with a very tender heart
and a very witty mind.

You bring your friends laughter,
always ready with many smiles.
You can be depended upon
to help a loved one walk those difficult miles.

You work hard every day,
serving others is what you do.
Bring that burger, deliver that drink,
"Hey, over here.  I'll have one too."

But when the day ends
and you lay your head down to rest,
Those you met along the way
will be the first to say you are the best.

As you celebrate this birthday,
know that you are loved
by many here on earth,
and those looking down from up above.

So on this Special Day
for the baby girl who was once mine,
Happy Happy Birthday
to a beautiful Valentine.

Donna,
What a very sweet poem. You and I share the same sentiments. I simply love my baby girl even though she is now 20. Children are a blessing from above. My sister lives in Ft. Lauderdale, and my other sister is moving to Orlando. Have a great day, and welcome to AD

Lots of love flowing out of these words and it sounds like it flows in both directions. I could almost touch it. Congratulations, well done. I'll be watching for more.
