Another chain whips across my back

Another night sleeping outside

Another moment in time

Another beating

The force of his feet across my back

Another chance for me to escape

Another night spent hiding

Another man hunt

Another threat

Chained to a pole

Spat upon

Beaten

Trodden into the ground....

Another burst of pain

As the alien pushes from between my legs

Another element to bring me pain

Don’t want to hear it cry

He said

I dont want to see it when i want you

He said.

Another child burnt in  the furnace

Another box buried at the bottom of the garden

Anotther hidey hole

Another place .

Electric wires across the door

My home

Another beating

Another threat

More pain

When will it end

Musn’t let her cry

I said

She’s gone

She will live with me

He said .

She’s free i don’t care

I said .

The bright glare from the sun

The camera flashes

What happened

How did you survive

They said

Nothing

I said .

I kept my promise to him i didn’t tell them what we had

What happened between us

I knew

I knew

Deep down he loved me

Deep down he was sorry for what he did

Deep down

 he loved his kids

deep down

he loved me

deep down .

Another, another, another... is like a oncoming steam-train of pain never letting up.
The poem whacks the reader, winds the reader, angers the reader.
Tight write, I feel that it was written spontaneously.
It is effective and affective.
Richard is on the money.

Deep down, but sometimes the realities can be very harsh, God bless...

Be always safe,
Karen

I've just read all of your poems, nicely done. I gather this is based in truth. There's a place for people like the guy you write about, but apparently they haven't dug his yet. Let's hope that oversight is corrected soon.

This is poignantly sad, but good always! prevails Be Well, Carin and keep the faith.

Chels, This is so intensely written, as if a "safe" confession. I know that the horrors of captivity can be devastingly brutal and scarring to the soul...If this is a true dipiction of something that has happened to you or a loved one, they really must get out of this situation, get help and be free of someone that has abused them beyond human reckoning. It is so sad to believe that this could actually happen in the day and age..God willing this is fiction.

You are an amazing writer, never stop!!!!

Much peace, love, and angel light my dear one,
Amber
