As I lay in my bed to slumber, from the days extensive labor
I heard a tune sweet as nectar, coming from the far-off land
Sung in its lonesome melody, under the quilt of melancholy
Battling within its own harmony, besides its lonely territory.
I stood up, headed to the window and opened the stilted planks
Then in the distance, beneath the tree, I saw a majestic beauty
Trying to set her free, by hanging herself in that very palm tree
Amazed by her stunning beauty and charming voice, I headed
Down and ran towards her, I ran like the air in its replete prime
And then untied the rope, from this palm trees noxious branch
She fell down on my lap, as the dead fruit falls on the ground
Her Heartbeat was there but it was diminishing with the sound
Yes, with the sound of silence, infiltrating even my chief adore
I came back to life with a sudden shrug and pumped her mouth
With the potent air from my mouth, still lifeless she remained
Then I pressed her heart closer to my heart, my god, only faint
Beat of her heart was perceptible, next to my bewildered heart
I grasped her much closer now, my arms around her shoulder
And my lips over her lips, my hairy chest over her dead breast
Her hips on top of my hips, but still anesthetized she remained
On top of my lap, with her cranium resting, in my shoulder back
Tears of helplessness fell down from my eyes, for I couldn’t save
This young angel from departing right before my impotent eyes
