In drizzles, ‘neath an umbrella,
I hide. It’s a willow
whose branches arch over me …
sheltering—infinity.
Somber tears slide off her leaves
when spring comes … loved ones pause, grieve.
I grasp her trunk, hold steady,
feeling my heart’s aches eddy.
Aches drizzle, tree boughs umbrella,
o’er me … weep my willow
as you arch over me …
huddling—eternity.
”We’ve grown together, ready?
You’ve hewn sorrows … etched inside …
and been watered with tear drops.
Can you now let sorrow glide?”
Heartaches rise up, slide away
knowing I’ll join you … some day.
Willow arches over me …
lovingly and willingly.
Aged, no sap flowing, she wilts.
In God’s garden Willow lives
for all the good she’s done.
Just as things ‘take’, all things give.
