Ring, ring!
“Hello!”
“Come home.”

She lays down with no peep …
in His arms goes to sleep.
She’s been called to go home
and has left me alone.
Home is beyond our dreams
and, sooner or later,
everyone’s called back home.
In flesh or in spirit
all need a place to dwell …
open arms, wings, beckon as well.
When we’re out of our skin,
traverse where humans haven’t been,
our hearts see our next-of-kin.

Ring, ring!
“Hello!”
“Come home.”

It was the wrong number
yet he lays down, slumbers.
He’s been called to go home
and has left me alone.
Contented he beds down
when lifes’ curtain turns, fades.
All fear and dismay fly away …
we’ve no reason to stay.
Don’t quake when spirits speak
or angels above bend, peek.
Choruses sing gaily
and, sooner or later,
everyone gets called home.

Loved this- you made such beauty of death, and this is how I looked at it when I lost someone dear to me, because I know he is still with me in spirit. Thnaks for such a perfectly beautiful poem.
