In the journal of my mind
pages turn, angels record my lifetime.
Seraphim, penmanship fine,
keep track daily ... each line
gilded in each journal of mind.
Flipping the pages loosely--
tear-stained entries, gaiety;
love, family--my wealth
and all of it was free.
Cherish well that journal of mind.
Brown pages ... days spent depressed,
when doubt, fears, made me question.
Red sheets ... bloody, passion
when rage ruled transactions
in that truthful journal of mind.
When His light shone within me,
We shared sorrow, misery.
He--Savior, Judge, Jury--
showed me continuity
of His guidance and peace of mind.
That voice inside us (it's said)
is angels reading instead
from journals in each head.
Each past is stored (but don't dread),
salvation comes ... journals shred.
