Everyday women (and a few men) are beaten by their spouses. Many stay because of their children, shame, economy--they have no other means of supporting themselves--and fear ... that to leave would cause the death of either themselves or one (all) of the children. I know ... I once lived in fear too ... and waited until my children were grown.

Sandy, anytime I read of someone beating their spouse or abusing them, in any way, shape or form, my blood pressure flies through the roof. It is beyond me how anyone for any reason would endure this type of treatment and stay in such an abusive relationship. I do understand, yet, I will never comprehend why! An incredible write, and my heart just breaks whenever I read something like this. Yet, it needs to be told, and you’ve done it extremely well. I just hope and pray that it stops. Take care and be well.
