Imagine your emotions were unspeakable.

Needled, evergreen, ever tall,
seldom see an evergreen fall
certainly it never will squall
though no prescription heals it all.
Evergreen, ever strong, e’en wronged,
my boughs, o’er loaded, are fragile.
I’m weary of storms raging wild;
my trunk is an older child … riled.
Flexible, evergreen, I’m bent;
don’t know where my strength zapped to, went,
but my roots delve deep, I’m content
to live on this earth, continent.
My dreams of adventure fizz, spent,
as seeds from my loins fly.
They’ll thrive out from under my eye
alone, over-shadowed, I’ll die.
Prone, strong, evergreen, not so wise,
I succumbed to the wild wind, lies,
(thought him spirit in mere disguise)
but he vanished in thin air, hides.
If not for trees, no one would rise;
man can’t breathe carbon dioxide.
Even spirits need to thrive, breathe,
so why with me can’t he abide?
Turn my needles, Lord, into leaves
so I can rest in winter, ease,
before my sap dries out, does cease.
If I could bend, I’d bend my knees.
Negatives won’t help us flourish,
when men criticize, discourage
all the things we need to nourish.
Not a stump around has courage.
Needled, evergreen, ever tall;
you’ll soon see this e’ergreen fall.
I’m not all that strong afterall
and not a tree will turn to squall.
