Wars and rumors of wars, natural disasters, out-of-control illnesses, etc.

From Biblical to futuristic,
wars will rage, be. Rumors run rampant
in times like these.
Murderous men have been and will be—
until Gabriel blows his trumpet—
in times like these.
Is peace on Earth purely fantasy?
Greed turns to evil, breeds discontent,
in times like these.
We share the Earth, siblings or neighbors.
Truly there’s no need for misery
in times like these.
Ev’ryone’s related—family—
none should serve as scapegoats to torment
in times like these.
Extend love, good wishes, helping hands.
Choose words carefully for true content
in times like these.
There---but for the grace of God---we’d be.
Would we perish, be triumphant,
in times like these?

In times like these indeed...tis a cruel world we share most times with cruel evil people but its the good people that make us want to keep sharing this very world, a great well composed write, written with honesty and from the gut, well done...Mark

Sandy, it truly does seem that “in times like these,” far too often, “greed” and “looting” whether it’s the known thugs, criminals or even corporate America and our allies take center stage, whereas we the people and our federal government must realize that we are in this mess together, and hopefully will then make a conscience effort to help those less fortunate. Far too many have died needlessly in vain! Excellent work. Thanks for sharing. Take good care and be well.

I agree with your message and the unfortunate thing is that "times like these" have been repeated the centuries over- I like that you showed this here-good poem.
I sure hope more help arrives and these victims of this horrendous storm can get some part of their lives back together again, but it will never be the same.
