It Could Have Been Me
I'd no reason to smile ... should be most sad.
Momma cried, tried hard, we still lost our Dad.
Could, perhaps should, been me in his place
but, for my Friend.
Children eating trash, a girl doing tricks,
those, mindless, hooked on drugs, seeking more wild 'kicks.'
I could have been in anyone's place
but, for my Friend.
Babies aborted, children beat, discarded,
whose dreams lay shattered before they started--
any could've been me--their lives a waste--
but, for my Friend.
Those brutes on the street, who batter and steal,
lack qualms, nightmares, about whom they kill.
I could have quit, joined that rat race
but, for my Friend.
I have reasons to smile; He makes me glad.
For my Friend, Jesus, I've NOT been bad
though I could've died. None would miss me
but, for my Friend.
Please share empathy. As quick as a wink
put yourself in ones' place. Then may you think:
"It could have been me ...taking that space
but, for my Friend."
The only difference is my dear Friend.
On Him alone I trust, love and depend.
It could've been me in another's place
but, for my Friend.

I like this composition... A depicting of faith that inspires and strikes the spiritual heart.

Jesus is there EVERYDAY, Everymoment! Amen!
What makes me scream is this, CHOICES!!! Many make em' and some that are selfish, make the wrong ones (IN MY OPINION) There is much to do if you're not choosy doing it!
A thought provoking write!
