Must we DEMAND others be free?
What if they shun democracy?
Must we FORCE it . . . against their will?
We are friends of humanity?
If we were children
and they wouldn’t play . . .
wouldn’t we turn heels
to go on our way?
Who put US in charge of this earth?
We’re not baby-sitters of girth . . .
out of touch with other nations!
We’re not their Mother . . . giving birth.
Each is a neighbor
with minds of their own.
Why can’t we hear their . . .
“Please leave us alone”?
Why is it WE whom they must please?
Why must nations beg . . . on their knees?
Our country once embraced all folks.
Now, sadly, our rights require fees.
Is God still leading . . .
or is He fleeing?
Why not share our bliss . . .
instead of blood shed?
