We always assume our prayers are answered ONLY when we get our way. It doesn't work that way.
When I was a child, Mother
wanted me like all others . . .
not deaf. Dragged to revivals
in line we stood . . . idle.
Healing was not meant to be
for my ears, earthly body.
Sometimes His answer is ‘no’.
Why do we refuse to hear when we cannot get our way?
No one says ‘yes’ everyday. Sometimes His answer is ‘no’ . . .
disappointed tears may flow.
He, knowing all, has reasons . . . sometimes He must tell us ‘no’.
When I prayed for grandchildren
that were aborted often,
the deed was already done;
miraculously saved one.
Everybody ought to know—
whoe’er we are, where we go—
sometimes His answer is ‘no’.
Why do we refuse to hear when we cannot get our way?
No one says ‘yes’ everyday. Sometimes His answer is ‘no’ . . .
disappointed tears may flow.
He, knowing all, has reasons . . . sometimes He must tell us ‘no’.
It’s been my sincere request
that God will grant our quest—
let our grandson again see
(but that isn’t up to me).
Disappointment came today,
a step back the other way . . .
sometimes His answer is ‘no’.
Why do we refuse to hear when we cannot get our way?
No one says ‘yes’ everyday. Sometimes His answer is ‘no’ . . .
disappointed tears may flow.
He, knowing all, has reasons . . . sometimes He must tell us ‘no’.
God never ‘slips’ a moment;
He never brings us torment.
Sometimes what we want can’t be;
we can’t see infinity.
There’s much we can’t comprehend
we’ll understand in the end.
sometimes His answer is ‘no’.
Why do we refuse to hear when we cannot get our way?
No one says ‘yes’ everyday. Sometimes His answer is ‘no’ . . .
disappointed tears may flow.
He, knowing all, has reasons . . . sometimes He must tell us ‘no’.

Sandy, It really makes one stop and think. Are we all part of a big plan. Can this be a trial to test our faith? I don't know if I could be as strong as you. All my love and prayers go out to you and your grandson. I pray that answers will soon open ears and eyes to the beauty of the world around us. Your Friend, Paul.
