I didn’t know which way to go,
had nary a soul to lead me
until I found You.
In a world of light, I stumbled
blind . . . following the others
until I found You.
You taught me how to walk anew
and to express my inner feelings
about finding You.
Ev’rything me is Your doing--
I stand, Your temple tall and proud--
hope led me to You.
Serenity envelopes me;
everyday’s a brand new gift
faith is serving You.
How do I know that You exist?
Creation is yet beyond man
but it’s what You do.
You share with me ev’ry burden,
You hold my hand, help me to stand
since I have found You!
I want to be a holy rose,
with a fragrance of forgiving,
just to be near You.
The gardens You sowed are of men
and many of them are thorny . . .
easily prick You.
I was one--reduced to crawling--
despondent and lost in the crowd
until I found You.
I didn’t know which way to go,
following footsteps randomly,
but then I found You.
The darkest realm parted with light,
let the goodness of You shine in,
because I love You.
