In the dense twilight shone a light ...
enveloping Sis ... like a willow.
Winged, crowned, she bent--inches from my bed.
"I heard what you said," Sis smiled,
"heaven is nothing to dread."
It was early--three-fifteen a.m.--
tears cascaded, swamping my pillow,
I heard a soft voice inside my head,
"I, too, will always love you.
Cherish the life you have ahead."
"God passed the words via your knee mail.
I've come to dry tears on your pillow.
There's 'life' anew ... though my body's dead.
I've so much to learn, to gain ...
need no rest, no time in bed."
"Throughout eternity, I'll hover--
an angel. When teardrops fall, billow,
remember I was here; what I've said.
I'm progressing here, angels all do;
learning the 'ropes', I'm being led."
"When you're lonely, need me, use knee mail."
The words in my head stayed though she fled.
"I'll watch over all of you.
I honestly do love you ...
don't cry, but live life instead."
Her comforting words lodge in my head.
