Burdened with news—
feeling the blues
b . b. bub a ba b . b. bub a ba
it seeps, drips, oozes
o’er my blue suede shoes.
Cobalt socks soaked,
my navy tie bolts
over the chair, hides,
as the low-down, belly-aching, heart-breaking blues
shimmys, shakes, glitters, slimes
out of baby blue eyes.
Feelings turned out,
only sharing soothes,
b . b. bub a ba b . b. bub a ba
those aqua hued flues
melts stripes in my booze.
Turquoise ring pokes,
my sweat rings float;
somebody’s got my goat,
I’ve the low-down, belly-aching, heart-breaking blues
snaking ‘neath skin, making rhymes,
that water baby blue eyes.
Living with hues, blue
loving, then missing you
b . b. bub a ba b . b. bub a ba
blues,ooze on and on
like sapphire gems, jeweled.
Once my fingers tripped
on your treasures they slipped
then my heart returned, flipped.
I’ve found low-down, belly-aching, heart-breaking blues
slipping, tripping around inside
‘neath my baby blue eyes.
b . b. bub a ba b . b. bub a ba
down to my shoes … feeling the blues
