In the middle of the night
in barest light
roam the disenters of fright
so ugly they're a sight blight
sans delight
when they come knock, knock, knocking
at the door . . . forevermore.
When the wolves howl, owls who
screetch they do
there's a scratch itching in you
something wiggles within, new
what are you?
fate prances, dances, knock, knock, knocking
scratch the door . . . forevermore.
Something creeps, crawls, on all fours
slam the doors
tears from all eyes dangle, pours
the sight in the mirror abhors
scents, odors
weave wonderously knock, knock, knocking
unadorned . . . forevermore.
Steathly evil pounces, abounds
the growly hounds
their heads lowered, leave the grounds
what have you buried in those mounds?
you're making rounds
kicking, howling knock, knock, knocking
insanely . . . forevermore.
Is there beauty in the beast
who will feast
upon limped, trusting souls who reek?
Will they howl instead of speak?
kin to animal
without beastality come knock, knock, knocking
in every man . . . don't open that door!
Leave the beast cowering within
he cannot win
unless we give consent, commend
insanity and bend
to primal instincts
deafen yourself to not hear the knock, knock, knocking
of hatred, greed . . . forevermore
