Bitter Winters Love

Sometimes Love cannot withstand winters cold harsh embrace.

So what happened to us?
There is no more love in those eyes.
There is no more lust in those goodbyes.
There is no more passion in that kiss.
No more wanting to be with

You or I would rather lie than express this,
Truth that the blind can see and point out so readily.
The us that was is no longer, replaced with two individuals of bitter discontent,
Standing here wondering where the love went.
Where did the heat go why does the wind blow?
Now here where sun constantly did shine.

Where every dinner was accompanied by passion wine.
Where making love through the night was our pass time.
There is only distance there now, replaced by a cold breeze of chilling degrees,
With broken branches off of what were once full trees.

We had a passion at which the core of could rival the heat on the surface of the sun.
Now I sit and wonder why has love run?
From this bitter cold that has smoldered our flame.
Where did this cold come from what is its aim?

I ask yet I know why winter comes its natures way of starting anew.
With a fresh canvas for life and flowers to grow thru.
But what if our love cannot survive this harsh winters cold?
What if what we once had is not so bold not so strong to maintain a hold
On a love that was once thought unbreakable.
On something that was seemingly unmistakable.

But mistakes were made and that cooling shade has become to cold to bare.
That hot and heated passion that felt everlasting now seems old and there,
Is distance from where we were to where we are and our beginning feels so far

From that spring where our love sprouted from,
and summer where our love flourished some,
And the fall where we kept our love nourished among,
The coming tide of winters stride and it seems to be that this bitter winters cold,
Threatens to destroy everything we hold.
All the love that has grown over years told
Does not have the strength of will to fight off this chill
And keep loves harvest alive.
The bitter winters cold has taken its toll and has left this years harvest to die.
