O, if I was a beach master bull
I’d have my pick of the hippo ladies;
They’d throw up their bums at me
And I’d mount them handsomely.
Charging into the water,
I’d take my pleasure where it pleased me.
I’d have a special hippo lady
Who knew the real me -
A big baby, really!
Hippo beach would be the in-place
For mud-baths and parties;
Swinging tails showering shit
And yellow billed storks agape
At our antics -
We’re really romantics!
The carmine bee-eaters
In the high-rise nests
Would forget the lizard
And bring their offspring to the fest.
The fish-eagle would take a rest
From lifting young ‘uns.
And every creature from the lagoon
(Even the dung-eating baboon)
I’d show the way to the trees
And ask the giraffes
To throw down some sausages.
In the cool of the evening
Surrounded by my clan,
The whole bunch of us stuffed
And ready for sleep,
I’d send up a prayer to the hippo goddess:
O, great one, keep an eye on all of us!
Action-packed adventure that will keep you turning the pages.
