The Preacher's Wife His eyes half closed Upon the rugged cross Feeling heavy burdens The world is lost. The weary preacher Struggles at the bar Spirit’s flowing down How’d he get this far? Smelling like cheap Perfume and wine She sits beside him From time to time. He slurs his words And tells of his love She holds his hand Gives his crotch a rub. Tonight they climb That old wooden stair To scratch that itch She has down there. He prays for her She holds him tight In the full moon He can’t get it in right. His prayers are wasted On her soul tonight Choir Sunday morning She hits the notes just right Preaching at the pulpit She’s in the front pew Spreads her legs open To give him a view. He knows he loves her She is his loving wife That afternoon He gets it in right. © 2010 Dayvid Graybill
