I have that story guiding many of my thoughts, too. I would lick the salt of my love, too, because I am also as human. I, unlike Lot, would have been a pillar also. I like the way you have incorporated the story for its effects. Nice piece...it makes me think and feel....

You don't look back only if you are absolutly sure she can't be touched. Those tears will wash away the pain. A great write Dayvid.

these tears are the release of emotional bondage
even when we look back & they are not looking back at us...
or merely...just to recall with clarity
I see in your new eyes & I think it is good to look over
our shoulder to empower the choices we must face & endure
