I wrote this in my church office after the rehearsal on Friday evening fell apart. Everyone was so apathetic about the whole thing. I was just really pissed! Of course I care for all involved and hope for the best. The wedding happened the next day and went okay except the best man could hardly stand up and one of the bridesmaids was now in love with a groomsman who was married. Something about Friday night's party.
This makes me glad that I did not have a "formal" wedding. In any event, over half of marriages end up "on the rocks" and not like scotch either... LOL! Love and peace,

Wow, I have been to two weddings this past month of July, one my daughter's on the 2nd, and just two days ago on the 31st..We had a great wedding rehearsal for both..but your poem is to me a nightmare and the beginning of divorce court without even breathing..
Well... so did God unite them in Holy matrimony or did Dad bring the shotgun? Sounds like a horrible experience. Maybe they'll get it right next time, or the next, or the wedding after that. sheeeeesh! Well written and amusing. J
On one hand, it sounds like this couple was walking into marriage, totally prepared, even up to the Friday night affair...then on the other hand, who is ever ready...for marriage, etc.?
Ya can't blame the groom for getting a buzz, after all he has to deal with most of those people for the rest of his life...probably also makes it easier to say "I Duz"...e

when love is there, as far as I'm concerned, it's already a soul marriage, and when love's not, even if a couple is married, it's a hoax. I'm not much for pomp and circumstance, but all for what's inside the heart.
